State Register of Transport Means

The State Register of Transport Means represents a unique systematized code of data concerning auto-motor transport means, tractors, specialized road-building, ameliorative, agricultural machines and mechanisms, trailers, undersized fleet vessels, stationary and mobile aggregates, equipped with internal-combustion engines, and separate numbered units, as well as about their possessors. This information resource is created with the support of Automated Information System “State Register of Transport Means” (AIS “SRTM”).

AIS “SRTM” is designed for collection, storage, update and data analysis concerning transport means, aggregates, registration numbers, which are the objects of registration, as well as about their legal possessors by providing this information to public authorities and governance bodies of the Republic of Moldova, as well as to other legal authorized juridical and physical persons.

AIS “SRTM” represents a complex system of evidence, consisting of the following system components:

• central component of state control over collection, storage and use of transport information resources ("TRANSPORT CONTROL ");
• component of automated evidence and control of transport means ("AUTOMOBILE");
• component of automated evidence and control of numbered aggregates ("Aggregates");
• component of automated evidence and control of technical condition of transport means ("TESTING");
• component of automated evidence and control of property rights and their restrictions ("PROPERTY");
• component of automated evidence and control of the documents, issued on transport means ("DOCUMENTATION");
• component of automated evidence and control of the registration numbers ("NUMBER").

Evidence and control objects are:

a) transport means:

• all types of automobiles;
• all types of motorcycles and mopeds;
• specialized road-building, ameliorative and agricultural machines and mechanisms;
• all types of trailers and semi trailers;

b) separate numbered aggregates (car body, chassis, engine);
c) registration numbers.

The SRTM objects are identified by means of a VIN-code, which represents a unique number of the transport means, assigned by the manufacturer, in compliance with the requirements of the standards: SM SR ISO 3779:2006 “Transport Means. Vehicle’s Identification Number (VIN)” and SM SR ISO 3780:2006 "Transport Means. International Identification Manufacturer Code (WMI)". Also, an Identification Number of Vehicle (IDNV) is assigned to the transport means, which represents the main identification feature of the object, consisting of 13 digital symbols arranged in strict order.
