State Register of Population

Automated Information System “State Register of Population” (AIS “SRP”) – represents a unified integrated system for automated evidence of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, foreign citizens and stateless persons, who are permanently residing or temporarily staying on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, as well as citizens from the Republic of Moldova, who left abroad for permanent or temporary residence (for a period over three months). AIS “SRP” is designed for collection, storage, update and analysis of data concerning the physical persons, who are the objects of registration by providing information to state governance bodies and to other authorized legal entities and physical persons in accordance with the legislation.

AIS “SRP” contains the following system components:

• central component of state control over the collection, storage and use of information resources concerning population ("PHYSICAL PERSONS CONTROL");
• component of automated evidence and control of births and/or deaths on the territory of the Republic of Moldova ("BIRTH AND DEATH ");
• component of automated evidence and control of civil status acts ("CSO");
• component of automated evidence and control over ensuring persons with identifying documents from the National Passport System ("DOCUMENTATION");
• component of automated evidence and control of person’s place of residence ("ADDRESS");
• component of automated evidence and control of citizenship ("CITIZENSHIP");
• component of automated evidence and control of crossing the state border of the Republic of Moldova ("BORDER");
• component of automated evidence and control of foreign citizens and stateless persons, who stay on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. ("FOREIGNER");
• component of automated evidence and control of persons, who apply to the embassies and consulates of the Republic of Moldova abroad ("CONSUL").

 

The objects of evidence and control are:

a) the following categories of physical persons:

• citizens of the Republic of Moldova, permanently residing on its territory;
• citizens of the Republic of Moldova, permanently residing abroad;
• foreign citizens and stateless persons, permanently residing on the territory of the Republic of Moldova;
• stateless persons and foreign citizens, who temporarily stay on the territory of the Republic of Moldova;

b) documents:

• identity documents of the National Passport System;
• Civil Status documents;
• documents of visa control system;
• medical documents;
• documents, confirming personal data;
• auxiliary documents;
• technological documents;

c) blanks of strict evidence.

The identifier of the object “physical person” is the State Identification Number of the Physical Person (IDNP), which represents a set of 13 digital symbols, arranged in strict order. IDNP is assigned to each physical person while primarily entering data concerning him/her into the AIS “SRP and it remains unchanged throughout the period of data existence. It is also being entered into all the documents, belonging to this physical person. A special feature of the IDNP consists in the fact that it does not include data concerning the physical person (date of birth and other information).
