Since January 1, 2006 the Republic of Moldova citizens have the possibility to hold two passports with the same identification code simultaneously. Persons interested may apply to the offices of the Directorates of Population Documentation of the SE “SIRC “Registru”.

Pursuant to the Republic of Moldova Law “On identity documents of the National Passport System”, No. 273-XIII dated November 9, 1994, and introduced amendments into the 6th article and 3d paragraph dated December 1, 2005, the Republic of Moldova citizens, on the basis of a written application, are entitled to hold two passports of the Republic of Moldova citizen at the same time, which are considered valid only if the owner’s personal data are identical.

This service is opportune and facilitates the process of successive entry into the country with the visa regime, if one of the passports is in the Embassy for visa.

The possibility to hold two passports simultaneously is convenient and efficient for people working abroad or having a joint business with foreign citizens, for sportsmen often participating in international competitions, for artists, scientists and other categories of citizens.

The second passport may be obtained, even if the person already has one, or two passports may be obtained during the primary documentation.

The payments are to be made booths of the SE “Poşta Moldovei”.
