Starting Thursday, July 29, 2010, the State Information Resources Centre “Registru” will render a new service - „Changing the passport of the Republic of Moldova citizen through postal offices”. First this project will be launched in Floresti and Cahul.
This service offers citizens the possibility to apply for the passport changing within postal offices. The applicant completes the questionnaire for the passport change within the postal office and pays the additional fee for the postal services, according to the established tariffs. The applications and the whole set of documents are sent to the State Information Resources Centre „Registru” via registered mail with “recommended” notice not longer than 5 working days since the receipt of the application from a citizen.
The Directorate of population documentation of the State Information Resources Centre „Registru” will examine the applications and produce the passports. The passports are further issued to the appllicant, who presents the identity card and the military card (recruit certificate) to the office of population documentation in accordance with the address from identity card.
The applications for the passport change will not be accepted in case of the first documentation, modification of personal data and minors’ documentation.
This project has been initiated by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communication to optimize the services rendered by the State Information Resources Centre „Registru” and the State Enterprise „Posta Moldovei”, institutions subordinated to the ministry.
