The Department of population documentation from Botanica sector started its activity 20 years ago. Meanwhile, for certain reasons the Department activity has been interrupted.

The primary issue of the State Enterprise “State Information Resources Centre „Registru” is to implement the Project “On implementing biometric passport of the Republic of Moldova citizen”, which is conditioned by the visa regime liberalization between the Republic of Moldova and European Union. This project foresees re-equipping and modernization of all Departments of population documentation subordinated to the State Enterprise “SIRC „Registru”.

Thus, starting July 13, 2010, the Department of population documentation from Botanica sector resumes its activity and will receive citizens’ applications for documents issuance on 52 Independentei Street. The Department has been repaired and re-equipped according to the new requirements. Since September 2008, the Department of population documentation has been transferred on 11/1 Asachi Street, receiving nearly 300 applications per day. 10 automated places of work will be installed in the new Department and 27 employees will perform their activity of population documentation.

Since June 22 and until September 1, 2010, the Departments of population documentation from Chisinau are opened for citizens from 7:00 a.m till 9:00 p.m.
