Mr. Eugeniu Ursu, Director of the Department of information systems of the State Enterprise “State Information Resources Centre “Registru” held a meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of External Affairs and European Integration aimed at performing tasks concerning automation and optimization of the process of the second passport and biometric passport issuance through diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad.

Mr. Ursu emphasize on the necessity to optimize the process of passport issuance to the Republic of Moldova citizen, that is the development of the „Consul” integrated system within diplomatic missions and information assurance by the SE “SIRC “Registru”.

The parties also discussed about the possibilities of the “Access-web” Retrieval Information System, which is used by the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova to facilitate the issuance of documents for the citizens being abroad.

During the meeting, issues concerning improvement of communication channels among diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad and the enterprise have been analyzed.
Recently, a group of ambassadors held a meeting with the administration of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication and SE “SIRC “Registru”, where they where informed about the possibility of biometric passport issuance through diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad.
