During his visit, the Minister raised the issue of providing centres of drivers’ examination of the Directorate of documentation of vehicles and drivers of the SE “SIRC “Registru” with necessary equipment, in order to improve conditions of the exams for driving license obtaining. Nearly 500 citizens benefit from this service daily and there are 120 functioning driving schools in the country.
The Minister emphasized on the necessity of these centres modernization, because only 12 examination offices out of 45 are equipped with computers. In the rest of the offices, the future drivers are examined using the old procedure of questionnaires. Till the end of 2010, software, computers, and video equipment will be installed to create a single information system. This modernization of centres is estimated at 300 thousand euro.
Special attention must be paid to driving centres to improve the quality of drivers and reduce the number of traffic accidents, taking into account the fact that the number of applicants for driving license is increasing and over 34 000 transport means are registered annually. Our mission is to ensure accessibility and transparency of these services through the simplification of the procedures of documents obtaining.
