European Commission delegation is visiting the Republic of Moldova for more investigations on visa liberalization dialogue.
Today the delegation has visited the State Enterprise „SIRC ”Registru” to discuss issues related to documents security, namely passports, identity cards and birth certificates. The guests were informed about the security level of passports personalisation and distribution, their issuance procedures and conditions.
At the same time, the parties discussed issues related to biometric passport of the Republic of Moldova citizen, available for 10 years, as common passport, while in other countries passports are available for 5 - 7 years. One of the primary conditions for visa liberalisation with EU is the documentation of population with biometric passports in 2011.
During the presentation of Automated Information Retrieval System „ACCES” it was mentioned that 27 consulates are connected to this programme.
The agenda also included information of the European Commission delegation about the interaction with Interpol regarding stolen or lost passports.
At the end of the meeting the guests thanked for the presented information mentioning that they received answers to many questions and welcomed further organisation of round tables.
