On December 17-18, 2009, Vasile Ciornii, Deputy General Director of State Enterprise „SIRC „Registru” has visited Budapest at the invitation of Gyorgy Varga, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Hungary in the Republic of Moldova.

The necessity of this visit has been established during the negotiations with Hungary of the project of bilateral Agreement on exchange/check of data of the Republic of Moldova citizens, who apply for visas to the EU states at the Common Visa Application Centre in Chisinau.

It is necessary to mention that State Enterprise „SIRC „Registru” participates at different projects, developed by the Hungarian representatives in the Republic of Moldova, such as the development of Common Visa Application Centre and the Hungarian support in the creation of National Centre for Personal Data Protection.

The aim of this visit is the presentation of working experience and operation methods in the field of population documentation, creation and maintenance of State Register of Population, implementation of biometric passports, etc. At the same time, the parties have exchanged experience regarding travelling documents for small-scale border traffic. Therefore, the travel documents and protection of personal data character have been presented in Budapest to the Hungarian experts in the consular field (Schengen Directorate of MFA), customs and border control, internal affairs, justice and control of migration and security fields.

The visit will increase the degree of trust of institutions from the partner states and EU member-states regarding the management of this field in the Republic of Moldova and will contribute to the facilitation of visa regime for the Republic of Moldova citizens.
