On December 14, 2009 Vladimir Molojen, the General Director of the “SIRC “Registru”, held a meeting with the representatives of the World Bank and IDA International, headed by Ronnie Wee, the company’s director.

The purpose of the visit consisted in familiarization with activities of the enterprise, with its main tasks, projects and elaborations, as well as in encouraging mutually beneficial cooperation projects.

The meeting agenda included stages of formation and development of the enterprise, information systems and resources of state significance, integration of automated information systems of the enterprise with the systems of other agencies and organizations, etc. The guests were impressed by elaborations of Moldovan specialists in creation of the AIS “State Register of Medicine” and “State Register of Circulation of ethyl alcohol and alcoholic products”.

The guests also visited the Production center and museum of the “SIRC “Registru”, where they got acquainted with the history of production of identity documents, passports and driving licenses.

The IDA International representatives expressed their interest in fruitful cooperation with the Republic of Moldova in the ICT field, having already 30 years experience in this field.

The IDA International is a part of the World Bank and is aimed at reduction of poverty by providing interest-free credits and grants for programs that boost economic growth, reduce inequalities and improve people’s living conditions.

The World Bank provides the Republic of Moldova with necessary technical assistance to initiate reforms in the ICT field, maximize opportunities on regulation and identification methods of the ICT efficiency increase.
