In order to implement the Decision of the Republic of Moldova Government No. 844, dated December 18, 2009 „On providing the Republic of Moldova citizens with identity cards at the age of 16” it was taken the decision to ensure free of charge issuance of ID cards to Moldovan citizens upon their first documentation at the age of 16.

The person should apply for an ID card within 1 year after reaching the age of 16, in order to obtain a free of charge identity card. In case when the person exceeds the age of 17, a free of charge identity card will be issued only after submission of reasoned explanation.

SE „SIRC ”Registru” will cover the expenses for issuing documents.

This facilitation will offer necessary conditions for increasing the role of young generation within social and political life of the country and will guarantee the right on education, professional training and employment.
